I see the recording files I transferred from my recorder, but I don’t hear anything when I play them and other sources work fine.

Check if the volume on the Sound Organizer software is turned up and also check if the volume on the computer is turned up. If that doesn't work, try playing the files on a different media player to see if the issue is specific to Sound Organizer.
