What happens if I remove Digital Line Detect from my Dell PC?

The same question applies to NetWaiting and Modem-on-Hold.

These features are enabled for the modem device in your PC. If you use the modem and disable these, then the functionality will be limited. In other case, as long as you don't use the modem it's safe to uninstall and even disable them from the startup (Start > Run > type msconfig and navigate to STARTUP tab).
