How to get library EPUB books?

When I borrow an EPUB or PDF book from the library. All I get is an .acsm file. I have both the Kindle (AW3) and older EPUB version of your software. AW3 is beyond great but I'm getting nowhere with the .ascm file -- WHAT NOW???

The .acsm file is an Adobe Content Server Message file which is used for DRM-protected eBooks. To access the actual eBook, you will need to open the .acsm file using Adobe Digital Editions software. Once opened, Adobe Digital Editions will download and decrypt the eBook, allowing you to read it.
