Can I download WinRail 8 and use my old serial number from the CD Box?

I bought my WinRail 8 CD ROM years back.
Recently I picked up my hobby again, can I still use WinRail 8?
My current PC does not have a optical drive anymore, can I download it from the web and use my serialnumber that is on the old CD box?
