Connect a foot pedal to Windows Media Player

Is it possible to connect a foot pedal to Windows Media Player so that I can stop and start audio and transcribe from it? My foot pedal which I think is pretty generic is made by Infinity, Version 14, and has a USB connection.

Of course it's possible, if your device supports it or has any plug-ins available. Usually, these devices come with a support CD which also contains a Windows Media Player plug-in used for controlling the player and also for transcribing. Insert the CD or download the plug-in from the support website and install it. Then, start the application and configure the pedal however you please and assign control & transcribe functions.
