Java on my computer stopped working. How can I solve this? It says that I should get a new package installation. I have found it, but it shows me some downloads and updates.

The error you have received is a generic one, meaning that if the software crashed it sends you to Microsoft Help to find a generic solution. This can be solved with a simple re-install of the Java Framework. Please download a new installation package and perform the necessary steps and reboot your computer for the settings to take effect.
I've just downloaded an updated version of Java but I still have Java (TM) 6 Update 37. Is Java (TM) 6 Update 37 still of any use in 2013? JFN
