The PowerBook G4 laptop is the last one from its series to have a PowerPC processor. It's an old laptop which I don't think will be able to recognize latest formats because many audio/video players were updated in a way that they don't support older laptops.
However, you can try VideoLan because it still has support for PowerPC processors. I recommend this player because it is able to play almost all audio/video file types.
