There could be many causes to this error, but the most common one is related to the program's development. Total Overdose's game code might be broken thus causing the crash.
However, other errors could be related to drivers, compatibility, outdated drivers for Sound and Graphics. Therefore, I suggest updating every driver you have in your PC (mostly for Sound, Graphics, and DirectX) as well as other frameworks that are needed by the game (typically it's Visual Runtime C++) and then try to run the game.
If it's possible, install the latest updates for your operating system as well.
