Which feature is used to ensure your file will convert smoothly to an earlier version of PowerPoint?

Base don my experience with PowerPoint, I know that you will have to save to the PPT format instead of PPTX. PPTX is the new version used by the Office package and it might not be compatible with the older versions, but as long as you save to PPT, you will have the possibility to open it in previous versions as well. You will find in Jasperactive the same thing as I said here.
