You probably have an Atheros device that is installed in your laptop/PC in form of a Wireless or Bluetooth module.
If it's wireless and you remove the driver, then network functionality can't be assured anymore and the driver will have to be installed again. The same goes for Bluetooth as well.
Check the specifications of your PC to see if there is an Atheros device and leave the driver as it is in case you find something.
