I've used ArcSoft TotalMedia 3.5 on Windows 7 for a number of years without any problems. Now, I've just installed a new computer with Windows 10, downloaded the appropriate files and when I go to set up I get the following message: the device is not available or is being used by another application. Help, please.

I'm not sure what causes your problem because I've just downloaded the application from the link provided by SI, and I had no problems installing and running it on my Windows 10 computer.

Judging by the message of the error that you get, I can only guess that the application is already running. Open the Windows Task Manager, look for an entry called TMMonitor, then close it and try to run the application again. Also, don't forget that the tool automatically goes to the system tray in case it appears that nothing is happening.

If you got this error while trying to install the application, you probably have a different installer running. Try restarting the PC and don't forget to run the installer with administrator privileges.

I have the same problem. It works on my XP machines but when I try to set it up on a Windows 10 machine I get the "the device is not available or is being used by another application" message when I select the device.

Been using Total Media 3.5 for about 10 years. No problems. Just upgraded to Windows 10 and the old version doesn't work. Tried the new version, which works except that LCN does not work in the new version. It keeps giving me LCN numbers that match the order in which the channels are found in a scan.
