Downloading AVG Free.

Question

I have had the free download AVG since 2015, it recently appeared faulty (probably on purpose to get everyone on the new AVG download). I used to be able to do many things with that previous program like look at reports and having the option to temporary disable AVG while I ran Combofix. The one I had would not repair so I uninstalled it and have been trying for days to get a compatible AVG program back which has the same features that I used to have but whenever I clock on to download the new program downloads by default even though I didn't ask for that one and certainly don't want the new one at all, it is not user friendly whatsoever so what is the next move for me please?

While I understand what you're going through with the application, I strongly recommend you use the new version because the company at some point will cease support for the version that you want meaning that it won't receive any more updates for virus definitions making it useless against the threats that become more and more aggressive. Even if you manage to install that version, it will be completely useless against new threats. Although we are mostly skeptic to new changes, they're not bad all the time. I personally use the latest version of AVG and it works as intended and you should do the same.
