Sometimes upgrades for Windows operating systems break compatibility for other applications. I believe this was the case for your situation as well. Since there is no other information about the software, I recommend applying a compatibility tweak.
Right-click the executable file and go to Properties > Compatibility. Choose another version of Windows from the drop-down list, one that you know the software worked and tick the Run as Administrator option.
