Why does the picture I want to put on page 1 and 2 of my Powerpoint in Office Suite X 3.3 keeps opening in a separate page and not in my Powerpoint?

The image opens in another page because you are trying to add a photo which exceeds the limits of the page dimension. In order to insert the image, you will need to shrink/resize the image according to the space left on the page you want to insert the picture to.

You can do that on the page where the image was opened. Shrink it using the anchors when you click the image then drag it to the page you want it.
