When installing Borland C++ 5.2 in Windows 7 32bit, it shows the alert that a critical installation file (instxtra.pak) is missing or corrupted.

The installation package of your software might be corrupt and because of that you receive that error. I recommend to obtain the installation package and then reinstall the application.

This might be the only way since the instxtra.pak file doesn't appear to be available anymore.

Nowadays, there is another application that you can use as an alternative to Borland C++. It's called Visual Studio and it's much more comprehensive and feature updated.
