Have installed Samsung Kies on computer, how do I update software on my Samsung Galaxy S4? Keep it simple, please.

There are two ways to update the firmware of your phone:

1. Through OTA (Over the Air): Make sure the phone is charged up to 85 % and then go to Settings > About Device> Software Update> Check for Updates. If you've never visited this section, the phone will show a confirmation message saying that it has been registered on the network. If the Software Update finds something, press Install and for the process to finish.

2. Through SmartSwitch (replacement to KIES). SmartSwitch is a simple tool designed to create backups and migrate data, but with update feature installed as well. Download the tool and then connect the phone. If there is an update, you will notified via visual confirmation. Follow the on-screen instructions and that's it.
