The phone uses a branded operating system, meaning that you have the ability to create folders on the external storage but you will not be able to modify its attributes by using the phone only.
In order to hide the folder, please connect the external storage to a compatible device which attributes (hidden, read-only, etc) you can modify on PC. Then when you insert the external storage (usually a SD card) into the phone, you will notice that the folder is hidden.
