I'm from an IT company, a client of ours has Water Worlds and Writing Journals (Or Journey) on a laptop that is broken, neither laptop or software were supplied by us. We are going to move all the data across onto a new laptop but they have advised us they no longer have the disk for the software, are you able to advise if it can be moved over?

Since there is no information about the applications you have mentioned, the only way to move the applications is by simply copying the installation folders. After you have moved the files, you also need to take the registry hives. You can find them in the following locations:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM : \system32\config\system
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SAM : \system32\config\sam
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SECURITY : \system32\config\security
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE : \system32\config\software
HKEY_USERS \UserProfile : \winnt\profiles\username
HKEY_USERS.DEFAULT : \system32\config\default

Note: The folders are in the Windows folder in the system partition.

Once you have the files, use the Registry Viewer to open them. Extract the path where those applications were installed, and merge them on the new computer. This is like making a mirror. Merge the REG files exported, and place the apps in the exact same place as they were installed and it should work.
