Not all the phones use the mentioned have button combo. Some of them don't even have Recovery to access the Wipe data/Factory reset option. However, to properly locate the correct button combination, go to Google and type the "model of the phone + hard reset". If you have the manual for the phone, then you can use it to learn how to reset the phone to factory condition.
