The Postbox Express is actually a lighter version of Postbox only that it lacks a few features, but yes, you will be able to access your old emails if you upgrade. Technically, the software shouldn't delete any databases or accounts if the upgrade is done normally, but as a precaution, go to File and use Export to create a database backup and then upgrade. This way you will be sure the old emails will be available for access.
