I keep seeing info about a portable version of Maxthon Cloud Browser. Is it genuine?

Yes, the download is genuine, and the packages is released by the official developers. The archive comes in 7Z format. You will need 7Zip to extract it.

Once the archive has been extracted, access the Bin folder and start the application using Maxthon.exe.
