Trying to download Windows 10. Under Windows 10 setup the following message came up:

What needs your attention: The following things need your attention to continue the installation and keep your Windows settings, personal file, and apps. AVG identity Theft Protection 9: Manually uninstall this app now because it isn't compatible with Windows 10.

Is this true? If not, how can I install Windows 10 with it as it will not move on unless I uninstall it?

Yes it is true, in order to install Windows 10 you need to uninstall your AVG product. For this you should use the AVG removal tool to completely uninstall all the components of AVG, as any leftovers can interfere with your Windows installation. Just uninstall the software, run the Windows installer and then try to reinstall it. Below are the links for the removal tool:

I got that message too. I checked my computer for AVG Identity Theft Protection 9 but don't have it installed. I clicked on the 64 bit remover in case some components are still in my computer. The scan showed that it doesn't exist.
