AirPlay is available when you have 2 Apple products. For example, you want to stream from iPod to iTunes on Windows, but no, you can't use QuickTime Player. The QuickTime AirPlay is the name of the service while QuickTime is the name of the application. To enable AirPlay, connect the PC and the device to the same network, then enable AirPlay on the iPod and switch to PC. Click the arrow with a rectangle next to the volume controller and select the source, then the library will be available in iTunes.
