There haven't been any reports of a black screen for the application, but in most of the cases the issue is related to the graphics card. It's either not powerful enough to display the 3D elements or it needs a driver update.
The easiest way to overcome this is through driver updating. Use the manufacturer's website of you graphics card, then download and install the latest driver available. Restart the computer and start the software again. If it gives the same error, reinstall the software as well. This should fix it.
