I have a problem with opening up a .psd file. It says "Could not complete your request because the file is empty". I was working on an art project and saved the file. Well, I restarted my Mac and went to open it and that came up. I wasn't having problems before but now I don't know what to do.

That file you were trying to open is actually corrupted. Photoshop displays that message when it encounters a file that's empty/corrupted. If you don't have a backup, then the project needs to be re-created. Additionally, you can try a recovery operation with the help of the Wondershare Recovery for Mac.

You can download a trial of the software using the following link: http://www.wondershare.com/data-recovery-mac/

You need InDesign

If so, see if you can place the corrupted PSD file and then export it as either a PDF or JPG, (I personally prefer PDF for quality). If this works you will at least now have your flattened version of your PSD. Then open that up in Photoshop and create a new layer and carry on.
