Compublox and Windows 8.1

I just installed Compublox on my laptop (Windows 8.1) and I've registered and validated, but when I open the program, it tells me there are compatibility issues and it might not run properly. Then it opens and I have the two profiles - admin and my daughter's, but nothing else happens. How do I get into the actual program?

According to the developer, the application is compatible with Windows ME/2000/XP/Vista/7/8 in 32- and 64-bit editions, which means it should work normally. However, if you have the game installed, right-click the launch icon and choose Run as Administrator, then open the application and choose the profile. If Windows insists on switching compatibility, right-click the shortcut, then go to Properties > Compatibility and choose Windows XP, then re-launch it.
