I just bought a new PC & want to transfer my Petrax software to my new PC. Windows 7 apparently doesn't recognize the PTXDB extension & doesn't know what program to open it with. It keeps trying to open it with Adobe and won't let me open it using Petrax. Can anyone help?

Since the software is not available anymore, you will have to install it using Compatibility tweaks. Right-click the software, then choose Properties > Compatibility. In the drop-down menu pick Windows XP and tick Run as Administrator. Launch the software and proceed with the installation.

If you can't install the application, simply copy the whole installation directory to the new computer and launch it. Apply the same tweaks for the executable file. Once the program is opened, manually locate the PTXDB files and open them.
