Yes, if the file opens and it's blank, then it might be corrupted. My advice is to avoid copying other files to the partition where the original file was saved. Download Recuva to another partition and install it somewhere else than C:\ drive. Use the built-in Wizard, then select ALL and the partition where the file was stored. After the results list appears, type CDR in the filtering box to locate the file. It should come up with its original name and a green marker in front of it. This indicates the file is in good condition. Right click it and save it to a different partition.
