All EXE files are not PDF. I want them back.

All my EXE files are now PDF files. I can't change or convert them back to .exe format. I can't download a fix and also can't open the files. I can't delete Acrobat Reader - it is in use. I can't open the Internet - only IE. I have worked with a Microsoft technician. When rebooting in Safe mode, I can't get on the Internet.

This is a file association problem and it can be fixed by uninstalling Adobe Reader. To do this, close all the applications related to Adobe. Press CTRL + Shift + Escape and switch to Processes tab. Close all the Adobe related processes and then try opening an EXE file. Next, reinstall Adobe Reader, and it will only associate with PDF file format instead of EXE.
