Viber randomly shows as "last seen at x time".

I don't know what the problem is, but whenever i try to message this friend of mine, his Viber says "last seen at X time". When I ask if he's closing the app himself, he says no he does not. So why does Viber randomly close the app or show that he isn't online when he has not closed the app at all?

This could be a simple issue caused by the network connection/stability or because of the Viber servers. There isn't an accurate response to this issue. However, the Viber developers stated that users should rely on the status information with 100 % accuracy, instead they recommend to actually contact the users to see if it's online.

The default state for Last Seen is directly related to the fact that the users quitted the application on purpose.
