If you have problems with the application, go to Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a program. Instead of uninstalling choose Repair, then wait for the operation to be finished properly. The blue icon informs you that there is a notification/alert. Double click it and see what it is about. Right click the icon and choose Update, then restart the computer and McAfee should work normally.
