How do I program a Taper?

I am currently using very old EZ-EDM software. I have to teach myself. My question is, how do I program a taper when I put the taper parameters in status, angle, register and change upper arm position, at table height and feed value? It still just burns a straight burn out with no taper. Do I have to change any post setting to post it properly? What am I missing?
