Yes, you can recover them from the partition where the images have been stored. Download and install a recovery solution (recommending Recuva) then use the built-in Wizard to choose the file type and partition where the files have been stored. For maximum efficiency, tick the Deep Scan. It might take a while, but the results are way better. After the files are displayed, select them and choose the recovery folder on another partition different the one where they were initially stored.
