My screen looks like sand art except for the very bottom where you can see the "lock" and the volume. It won't stay on. Anything to do?

There is nothing you can do except replacing the display. What you see now is the display that's been cracked. You will have to take it to a local phone service shop to replace the screen. However, if you have the drivers installed, connect the phone to the PC and then attempt to copy the contents of it. It should work this way, but you won't have the possibility to activate additional features.
