If the buttons don't work, it means the display glass is damaged. The only way to overcome this is to replace it. However, since it's an Android phone, you can connect the phone to PC and use the automatic mounting procedure to access the content. I recommend replacing the glass.
I cannot guarantee that the above procedure works. The phone needs to have Android 4.4.X in order to have automatic mount.
