Accessing the network through VPN.

I am about to begin consulting as a geophysicist for a company that is 2 hours from my home, where I will be working several days per week. They already have a VPN setup. What is my best option for accessing the computer in their office that I will be using?

It depends on the client used by the company. You can use an application created especially for the VPN or the built-in VPN support module. You can use Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center. Set up a new VPN connection with the details you'll receive for your company. They should offer guidance to connect to your computer. As a simple tip, use TeamViewer after the connection has been established.
