You will need to visit your local Apple store to replace the DVD-ROM device in your Mac with a Blu-ray one. There are external players, but it's usually better to use their products when it comes to Apple and their devices. If you give up your old DVD drive, they might offer a discount. Alternatively, use Amazon or NewEgg to look for a compatible Blu-Ray device that supports Blu-ray disc playback.
