The first thing you need to do is to disable the Internet connection. Afterwards, access the application and force close it. You can do this pressing the Home button twice then swipe the application to close it. This will shut down the sync operation. Open the application again and you should be able to edit the data. If you attempt to modify a file that is in the sync progress, then the app will continue to sync because it detected modifications.
