I have the HomeCraft Organize Your Collection software. Currently I have extensive collection in the software. The old computer I have it on is failing and I need to move the software to a new computer. I have tried installing v6.x from the web to an XP machine, a Windows 7 and a Windows 8 machine and get the same error on all 3. DAX error, Library not registered. Then runtime error 50003. Is there any fix for this? Or do you know of another easy program I could use and convert the data?

I was finally able to copy the OYC directory and got the program to open on the Windows 7 machine, but not the Windows 8 machine where it needs to be.

The official website of this application is not working which could mean two things:

  1. The software and the website have been discontinued.

  2. The compatibility of the application doesn't include Windows 7 or Windows 8. The modules used in the application don't work properly and because of that you get the DAX error. DAX refers to the database used by the software. I would recommend installing Windows XP through VirtualBOX. It might require additional resources (RAM, CPU, HDD) but at least you have the software running normally in an unsupported environment.
