Can I play in Windows 8.1 environment and what should I do to make it work? Thinking of downloading the game from the net.

There are people saying the game works fine on Windows 8.1 (all versions) and there are others who encounter crashes. Since it's not a Windows 8.1 game, install it and right click its executable file then choose Properties > Compatibility. Select Windows XP from the list and launch the game. Make sure that you have DirectX 9.0 installed in your computer. Use Google to look for the 9.0c version because if you use the one on Microsoft website, you'll encounter an error saying the DirectX version installed is newer than the one you want to install.
