When you install the Realtek Audio Driver package, the installer automatically deploys the Realtek HD Audio Manager on your computer. You can find it in the system tray. Access the tray and double click the orange speaker. Go to Recording and make sure that the microphone is configured correctly. Click the pink whole on the right and choose Microphone and then it should work.
