Although the application is compatible with iOS 5 and higher, there is a possibility the crash is caused with iOS 8. The official version of iOS 8 hasn't been released yet and bugs may appear and because of that the application you are trying to run has problems. My advice is to wait until the iOS 8 is released, then update the iPad properly and install the application again.
