The Chromebook works as any other normal computer only that it has some limitations. For example, you can save files to the Downloads folder, but if you plan to use EXE, BAT, MSI, etc. files, then you need to know that they don't work. The OS is different and it doesn't have Windows compatibility. You can install apps via the Chrome Store.
