I get an "Error 628: Unable to establish connection with the remote computer" when I try to connect or to initialize a connection.
This error is related to VPN connection and it occurs when there is an improper configuration of the TCP/IP protocol. Check network settings and verify if the VPN services are running properly. Also this is caused by a bug in Windows XP and a fix is explained on Microsoft Support.
