MonitorClient compatibility with Windows 8.

Does MonitorClient version 1.0 work under Windows 8?

The software is released with another name, but there is nothing mentioned about Windows 8 which means that it isn't compatible with Windows 8, however, if you have the package install it as Administrator and it should work. You can access the official website in order to obtain a package for installation.
