Can't open files after I installed the application.

I downloaded this program and now I cannot open any file on my desktop. All I get is a circle of spokes that turn counter clockwise forever.

This happens because the Free Ultimate File Opener isn't reliable at all. There is no application configured for this purpose to open all file formats. Most likely, the application is fake even it allows you to open a limited range of file formats. My advice is to try to identify the file format you want to open and then look on Google to find the correct application.
