This program is discontinued from development and besides that, it is not available anymore on the web. There is no way to acquire the application to test it in a Windows 8 environment. If you still have the package, deploy it to Windows 8 and try to install it with Administrator access. If you succeed, use the same Run as Administrator every time you start it. Alternatively, the application may have great compatibility issues and therefore it can't be used in this environment.
