Question about Mediagear key chain reader.

I had to upgrade to Windows 8.1 and now the reader does not work. I tried to update Windows drivers but that didn't work either. This reader is 32-bit and Windows is 64-bit. Is there any way I can make it work or should I just forget it and buy something else that will read a Smart Media 3.3V card? Could you recommend where I can buy one?

Unfortunately, there is no way you can install the device in Windows 8.1 because there are no drivers to support a 64-bit installation. In this case, you can use Amazon to look for another device that is compatible with Windows 8.1. Ebay is another possibility to acquire device because of their low prices.
