I have a Blackberry Torch 9800 and am trying to update my device's software but for some reason it won't let me. It also says that it's only for 9500 and 9000 but not for 9800. Can I still use it or what can I do?

Also when I got my phone, I plugged it to the computer and loaded the software and it was working fine until I accidentally uninstalled it. I repeated the process of plugging the phone to the PC, downloaded what was needed until it started downloading the Winzip self-extractor - 710b042multilanguage.exe which downloaded half way then came up with an error 1723 which is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A DLL is required for this to be complete. It says I have to RepairRimDriverUsbNT. Can someone please explain this to me in English?

It's possible that you've downloaded the wrong updater application for your device. To download the correct one, access the support section of the phone at the BlackBerry website and download the supported software. When you click on the PC Software, the page should redirect you to the BlackBerry Desktop Software page. Download and install it and then connect your phone and you should be able to upgrade the firmware.
