Sony Handycam DCR-TRV280 and Dell XPS 8500 compatibility with Corel Video Studio.

I have a Sony Handy cam DCR-TRV280 using digital tapes and a Dell XPS 8500 computers and I can't transfer the video from the camera to the computer. If I install an IEEE 1394 adapter card on my computer and attach it to the i.Link port on the camera, will Corel Video Studio software transfer the video from the camera to the computer and allow me to edit the video to prepare output for various file types and DVDs?

Yes. This might be the best way to transfer the videos from the camcorder, if your computer doesn't have a port compatible with the camera. Also, Corel Video Studio has the ability to connect to your camcorder and edit videos. However, on the camcorder's website, the developer advise is to use Picture Motion Browser to manage your recordings. You can download it from the following website or you can use the tool from Corel.
